Wow, this one's long. Sorry for taking so long to review this btw, just haven't used NG much recently ;(

Let's begin with the goods:

I love the Porter Robinson feel this song has. It truly feels like a journey through another world. The section at 2:53 is really interesting. I especially love the bass, it sounds so analog. 3:24 is pretty good as well in my opinion, and it sounds unknown and mysterious in a way.

On 4:26, there goes that lovely bass transition again, and it is just as good. I like how after this, it goes back to the drop slightly different, then goes back to the intro.

6:06 is really good, although I feel like it needs tighter reverb.

The outro is really good, I wouldn't change much at all there honestly.

Now for the change I would make:

I feel that generally, you want to use reverb carefully, because if you mess up the reverb, the whole mix will start sounding like stuff is clashing together. First thing's first, I noticed you put reverb on the really nice bass you used.

Here what I would make sure to do is cut the reverb's lows (from what I know of SunVox, you can do this by connecting your synth to both the output and the reverb, but connecting the reverb to an equalizer with high and middle active and connect that equalizer to the output).

Do this for EVERYTHING. Reverb instantly turns your synth's signal into stereo mode, so if you don't equalize it with the required amount of care, it'll stereo the bass frequencies and ruin the mix.

Also, one more tip, equalize the low frequencies out of everything except for the bass, sub and kick. Do this carefully.

Anyways, that's all I had to say really.
TL;DR - This song is fantastic, but the mixing is limiting its quality.

Can't wait for your next projects! (There are probably a few I missed, but ykwim.)

OVERSCORE responds:

Thank you for the mixing advice! Mixing is probably my worst area, I need all the help I can get here. I’ll try out some of your tips.

Uuuuu, I see what you are doing here!

I agree with the guy below me, this track is really fun and bouncy. I also really liked the half-time-ish part around 1 minute into the song. FWIW, this track is pretty interesting!

A small problem: the kick sounds strange. Let me elaborate: usually, house music has a really punchy sound, but the kick doesn't respect that very much, and it sounds sort of like a strangely deep sine wave. The easy fix here is to just use a punchier sample for your kick, but what do I know of SunVox? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's really it for issues. The rest is phenomenal as expected from you, so don't worry!

Stay awesome! <3

OVERSCORE responds:

Yes, making a genuine kick is a bit difficult on SunVox. I think I can fix it though, since I haven’t uploaded it anywhere else. *no one needs to know* XD

UPD: And there was punchy kick

Damn bro, I wish I had this kind of inspiration. Not only your music is improving from both a melodic sense and a technical sense, but you are not running out of ideas.

This, alongside all your recent stuff, truly inspires me ngl, especially since I suck at making new ideas atm xD.

Jokes aside, keep up the good work!

~SpeedoRH

OVERSCORE responds:

You think I’m not running out of ideas? XD

YOOO FRONTPAGE LET'S GOOO!!!!! (also cool tune)

OVERSCORE responds:

Haha, thank you

Damn man, I love the vibe here! The way you put everything together: the saws, the lofi drums, the 8-bit elements here and there; it is just phenomenal!

One thing I would change would be the hi-hats. The samples are fine as they are, but I think they should have been more groovy. It's hard for me to explain honestly, but I guess the best way to describe it is to use a few more of them and make the pattern a little more improvisational.

To be honest though, this song is great as it is, so you don't have to worry! This is just a small opinion of mine.

Keep it up bro!

OVERSCORE responds:

Thank you for positive review! Any and all opinions are accepted, just speak your mind. ;)

Damn man, the title describes this really well to be honest!
I love the determined tone this song has. It really fits well with the metal genre in my opinion.

Keep it up man!

P.s. Congratz on getting yourself another FP! You really deserve it.

FarFromSundown responds:

Thank you so much! Damn, I didn't realize it got FP'd until now. Awesome! <3

Wow, you have outdone yourself once again!

Just a couple of things. The kick at the intro sounds like it might have reverb on it (not sure about it, considering I don't have the original .sunvox file to verify for myself). In that case, don't do that, since kick sounds are meant to be played in mono, and reverb works by spreading sound in stereo mode. If the kick didn't have reverb on it, then I apologize for mishearing.

Apart from this small thing, this song is impressive, not only from a technical point of view, but also when it comes to how everything harmonizes together so smoothly. I will never stop praising you for your composing abilities. They will always be a source of inspiration to me.

Hope this review helps!

~SpeedoRH

P.s. Please use 8-bit elements more! They fit so well in your style!

OVERSCORE responds:

No reverb on kick. Got it!
I’m so glad I can be a source of inspiration to someone, especially someone who inspires me just as much.
Glad you liked this one!

P.S. chiptune elements have always been there… just buried under insane amounts of reverb lol

This song is phenomenal! The intro is alluring and emotional, which is a good thing because it makes the song more interesting (or at least in my opinion).

Just for fun, I checked this song under SPAN (a spectrum analyzer plugin), and I noticed that the high frequencies were a bit muddy and low volume compared to the bass (but I think it's a thing that often happens on SunVox a lot, then again I don't know). I think you should add a raspy bass to fill the mid frequencies a bit more and to put a high pass filter on the saws and maybe add slight white noise on the saws to fill the highs a bit.

All the other elements of this song (arrangement, structure, melody) I have no critique for. Your melodies are just that good :D

Anyways, I hope this helps!

~SpeedoRH

OVERSCORE responds:

Glad you liked it! As for the SPAN thing, that was semi on purpose… I thought it sounded better with a whole lotta bass. And I haven’t yet found a raspy bass on SunVox. I’ll keep looking though. Thanks for review!

I really love the "happy promenade" vibe this gives me! The drums should be slightly punchier, but that's about it for negatives really.

Really good!

~SpeedoRH

OVERSCORE responds:

Next time, the drums will punch you in the face!! XD

Not much to say except that I got the vibe.
